Speed drills

Thirteen of the children have now passed the addition speed drills with 80% or better. I am trying to get all the class to pass by the 16th, which is the last full day before Christmas vacation. This week I will ask students to have their completed speed drills signed by a parent as part of their homework so that you can see where your child stands in regard to this requirement. Please sign the drill promptly for return the next day as this will be an additional homework assignment just like any other.

Navarro's reminders

We are now collecting canned food and other non-perishable foods for our school-wide drive. We are in competition with all other grades to see who can collect the most cans and the reward is a pizza party for the class that brings in the most. Please start sending in those cans and non-perishables now as we also teach our students the value of caring for those less fortunate than ourselves.

Keep collecting Box Tops!

May post

Wednesday of this week the Liberty Charter School Faculty and Staff take on the student volleyball team. Last week they took on the student basketball team and beat them in a very close game all the way. The ticket to get into the game, which is played during school hours, is to bring in a can of food to donate to the Food Bank. Please have your student bring a can of food on Wednesday to get into the game at 1:40. If you student did not bring a can last Wednesday, have him/her bring in two cans this week. Parents are welcome, too, if you wish to join us.

Parent-Teacher Conferences

Thank you for a very good turnout to Parent-Teacher conferences. I think we had a very profitable time of discussing your children’s strengths and weaknesses. Please feel free to set up another appointment through the office if you have any further questions or concerns between now and the end of the school year.

Souvenir Sack

In regard to the souvenir sack mentioned on the Field Trip Slip, it is a little memento that includes a dinosaur pencil, a sticker, and a couple of other little items. It comes in a small sack and costs $1.00. I must order these a day or two ahead, so please have your child tell me specifically what the dollar is for so that I can put the order in before the 12th. Remember, this is optional.
